Process
1. First you will pick your animal that you would like to research, this animal must be found at the Columbus Zoo. I have provided a list of the common animals.
2. After you have selected the animal of your choice you will need to learn everything that you can about your animal. This can be done by using websites and resources that I have provided or ones that you would like to use. Make sure all work is cited and gets credit where it is due. Meaning anything that is not your work should always be cited. Here is a link to help

3. Start researching the animals habitat and eating habits. You will want to know everything there is to know about your selected animal. The more information you have researched the easier your paper will be to write along with creating your habitat. Please feel free to use all the resources I have provided for under the tab that says Research. You might want to use writing tools for note taking when researching, remember our note taking week long lesson?
4. After you have all the information that you feel you need about your animal you will be writing a 2-3 page research paper reporting and talking about the habitats and eating habits. You will also include information on what you will do to keep your animal from running away from the zoo again. Be creative on this part of the paper, no research is needed.
5. Once your paper is finished you will need to turn it in for credit. Once everyones papers have been completed we will then start the second task, creating the animals habitats. While we are waiting for everyones papers please feel free to start collect items that you want to use in making your habitat. These habitats can be drawn as a picture, a 3D habitat such as making it inside a shoe box or out of popsicle sticks, it can also be made by using the computer using the program KidArt (we had a week long lesson about this program). Once we get closer to this part of the assignment I will give more examples. REMEMBER this take will be COMPLETED IN CLASS.
